If not will the Tigers take the AL Wild card? Does this mean the yankess miss the playoffs this year?

I still think the Tigers will fade somewhat, but the longer they stay in the race, the better their chances of making the playoffs (obviously). The WORLD CHAMPION White Sox' pitching is relatively subpar (compared to last season, that is), and that will be their biggest stumbling block toward a repeat championship. Detroit's pitching has carried them thus far, and they're going to need to continue that.

I don't think the Tigers will win the World Series this season, but if Leyland keeps playing the right cards, maybe he can get that team to be perennial contenders instead of doormats. It's kinda nice to see them picking it up again.

(And it would be cool to see the $208 million Yankees miss the playoffs, huh?)
