Obviously the others who answered were not adopted.
I was, and I understand.
No matter how happy your life is, you always wonder why you are different, who you look like, who your anscestors are. And you always wonder what the circumstances were.
I woud reccommend talking to your adoptive parents if they are still alive, and bringing this out in the open and see what they say, and their reasons for not telling you.
Also, gather all the information you can so you can look up your birth parents if you decide to. I did, and it was a much needed closure for me.
You may also want to consult a counselor to get some support and input while processing this new information. Journaling about it may also help.
Blessings to you!!
Email me if you would like (I am 48, female)

If you had a good loving upbringing just be happy. If you were an orphan life could have been so much worse. Sometimes our blessings come in diverse forms. That "illegal placement" as this lady put it could be true and it could be false but what we are forgetting here is that the placement you had made you a very lucky child. Your life is legal now and thats all that counts. Personally I think you probably had it better than others in your predicament.

Dude, you are full of s**t. In one question, you say you're 12 yrs old and want a "nice warm lady" in your church to adopt you. Now you're saying you're 46 and found out you were illegally adopted.
Hey, adoption is very serious to a lot of people. Please don't make a fool of yourself this way.

Look for your birth parents.Talk to a counselor or contact the police, and risk getting your birth mother/father/neighbor./ladies friend all in big trouble.

It doesn't matter where you came from. It matters that you are here. Be happy and thankful. Good Luck!
