JPEG - An acronym for Joint Pictures Expert Group. Primarily an exchange and storage format for 24 bit-depths images, provides the best compression for photographic quality real world bitmaps but not well for animation with solid blocks of colour, progressively heavier compression results in progressively greater loss of data/image quality.

M-JPEG - An acronym for Motion JPEG. M-JPEG is an adaptation of JPEG with added digital editing compression procedure for the storage of video sequences. M-JPEG affords spatial compression.

10/100 mbps network - There are a number of adaptations to the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet standard, including adaptations with data rates of 10 Mbits/sec; 100 Mbits/sec (Fast Ethernet); 1,000 Mbits/sec (Gigabit Ethernet); and, most recently, 10 Gigabit/sec Ethernet.

JPEG: joint photographic experts group: a standard for image files. Works best with gradient colors, as opposed to GIF, which works better with fewer, discrete colors.

M-JPEG: Moving JPEG. An animation or movie file based on the JPEG standard.

10/100 Mbps network: A computer network that works at 10 or 100 Megabits per second. Commonly known as Ethernet.
