Is it the end of the world, a raise in consiousness or sumthing else.
Im confused about it all. Heaps of prophets predict something 4 this time. the pyramids have it in them. the Mayan calender ends that year.

Don't worry, it's nonsense. There are always crackpots predicting the end of the world.

The Mayan calendar was broken down into five separate ages (five suns). The last age of the calendar ends on December 23rd (I think) 2012. Some people believe that because the last age ends at that time that it is somehow significant.
Many New Agers believe that with the coming of the 2012 Mayan date that there will somehow be a sudden shift upward in human consciousness - i.e. that we as humans will grow smarter and more enlightened. Others have latched onto the date and tried to prefigure it as some kind of the end of the world twaddle.
In either case, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. If you are interested in pursuing the subject and where, particularly, the New Agers got their ideas read Jose Arguellos' The Mayan Factor. It is a complex book about the Mayan Calendar and how the author interprets the meaning of the calendar.
The Mayans were silent as to what the end of the fifth sun (as they called it) signified.

Yeah, it's a prediction that the Mayans made (I'm sure it's December 23rd, too) It's most likely not true, but people get all worked up about it because the Mayans were extraordinarily good at predicting things like eclipses. They were never more than a minute off in their eclipse predictions. So, many people think they are right about the end of the word...I don't.

Some scientists or astrologers are saying that a comet or some astral body will come so close to the earth and that will change the earth’s axis. This would cause reactions as those stated in Revelations in the bible. I found this wed site that has many different articles about it. It’s really cool. Anyway I believe that something will happen between 2008 and 2015 that will affect the earth in a major way and terrible things will happen. I never hear of anything that was supposed to happen before I read this question and searched for the answer.

Yeah, according to the Aztecs 2012 is when the present age is going to end. Their calendar says (I believe) that the world has ended 3? 4? times before...a different form of destruction each time. One was water, I know that much. I think this time it's supposed to be fire. If it's true, I only have this to say:
"We don't need no water/Let the M*ther F*cker burn!"
Yay for the end of the world! It's about time!

No one on Earth or in the Heavens knows the time, hour, day, minute, second, year of when the world is going to end, except God, who is its Creator. No Saint nor Angel nor Human being knows. Read the book of Acts in the Holy Bible, the First Chapter of Acts has the response of Jesus Christ to the Apostles when they ask Him. He tells them what I wrote up there for you. Don't worry though, just repent for your sins and belive that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior, the Way to Paradise the Truth the Eternal Life and the Light! Then your end will be with God in Heaven!

that's when, under the theory of the mayan calendar coming to an end, our present epoch ends. one can only hope that it's not a permanent end, but rather the beginning of something more sane and enlightened.

2012 is not the end of the world. it's simply an energetic shift. probably only those who sense energy will even be aware. most only see the changes happening physically to the world (flood, storm, drought, famine etc.etc.) they aren't aware of the spiritual shift that's on the way.its simply a transitional period where mother earth is renewing herself.

I KNOW in 2013 they will all say: 2012 prediction? No, no one in this church believed that Pagan, Heathen prognostication.
