I come to this site for humor, to gain knowledge and the realty
check of being horrified by the thought of some.

I got an email from the site telling me it existed. If I see people I may be able to help, I try to help them. If I see people just being stupid, well, ask a stupid question and get a stupid answer, right? Anyway... it's something to do and every once in a while there is a serious question that can make a difference and I do my best for those. :)
I'm 30 years old, hoping to be married soon, one daughter that I have custody of, work a middle management job and politically I guess I'm more libertarian than anything else.

You're right, there are some really good people on here tonight. I guess this is my social life! I'm retired, a wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma. Homeschool my youngest who's a senior now, as well as my grandson (10th). We take in stray kids so far have had 28 in 20 years. Some stay for years, some for just a day or two. Most had been dumped as teens and had no where to go. In the evening, I play games on line or come to yahoo answers.

Without being too publicly introspective...
I'm here because I'm recently retired and I missed the human interaction and dialog that was part of my life until 6 months ago.
I never expected to read so much hateful invective from so many people who are totally close-minded. Does anyone really believe that because someone is liberal or conservative, Christian or Muslim, gay or straight, rich or poor, businessman or social worker... that EVERYTHING they think, say and do is either right or wrong?
At first I thought it must just be the kids who meander through these Q and A's slinging verbal graffiti. Now I know better. There are some incredibly sanctimonious and evil-spirited grownup folks here too.
I'm learning to ignore them most of the time. I search for more open-minded Q's from those I'm familiar with.
Like yourself.

It's fun! Rob your Liberal and a good person yourself. That's what really matters in the end you know. It's not how much you take people for or what your pockets hold when your gone. Read Ecclesiastes 9 about the live dog and the dead lion. The Conservatives don't seam to get it!

I guess I came here for some intellectual stimulation. I get some of that, but I am also bothered by the hateful attitudes of some people on this site. (Idlebud - I love it when you respond to those hateful people!)

well i'm on this site cause i'm kinda bored :-)...but theres a lot of people out there there that seem to be having a really hard time in life i'm under 21 and i know i don't have much experience but i really want to just help people...

I started on Answers mostly answering physics and chemistry questions. That got boring, this is much more entertaining. I consider myself to be a moderate liberal, registered independent, but also have some libertarian views.

I came because my friend's question about many Yahoo Avatars resembling Corey Feldman was removed by Yahoo.
They let people say sick things and troll for 13 year old buddies but god forbid you make a joke about their Avatars.
