Maybe he likes you. Group dates, when groups hang out together, it takes the pressure off. You can be more relaxed because there are more people around and more to talk about. However, guys can get shy when they are alone with a girl. Which leads me to believe he likes you. I had this guy friend who was actually one of my best friends. We always hung out. Sometimes with a group of people, sometimes with just us two. He was always so quiet when it was just the two of us. It didn't make sense until he admitted that he liked me. And now we're dating and we talk a lot more. Go figure. Well, hang in there.

He might be shy. Perhaps you could initiate conversation by talking about something he likes. If he talks alot in large groups then he knows how to be sociable but I think he might get nervous when he's alone with you. I know sometimes I get a little nervous with one on one conversation so it always helps to invite topics that might interest him.

I think he likes you and he wants people to know that, but when he is alone with you he doesn't want to mess up and say somthing worng. He probaly is more comfortalbe in a group of people. I would say he is a people person. You should ask him out.

my guess is shy, nervous, etc. Try talking to him about very light subjects - TV, school/work, what you did last weekend, etc. That will help to put him at ease with you. Maybe he can't think of anything to say? So get him started. And ask open ended questions, like "what did you do last weekend?" not yes or no question like, "do you like this or that?"

He could be shy or just not know what to say at that moment. I know it is a lot easer talking in a group then it is one on one. Give him time I am sure he will open up........

Maybe he's shy. Why don't you ask him about this? The perfect time is when you're alone with him. Just a simple question.

He feels more comfortable in a large group. If you like him, continue talking to him and let him know you like him and maybe even ask him if you two could go out by yourselves.
