no, its up to u your gonna be the one registering the birth. he doesn't even have to be on the birth certificate if u don't want him to be.

I dont think so, but if you want to draw child support it might be a good thing. And the child to me has a right to the surname of his father, unless the father was abusive or something like that

Some state laws require not only the child, but you to take on the father's surname. You also will have to register the child as a bastard. It will never be able to vote.

NO!!!!! The baby can and should have your last name. If their are issues w/ the father that will make you not want him around the baby then it will be easier legally for you if the baby has your last name. By the baby having your last name the father will have to prove paternity which will cost HIM money......to make a long story short, you'd be making it harder for the father. I am speaking from experience.

NO if u r not married he doesnt even need 2 b on the birth certificate( he has to go with u if he wants his name on, if ure married u can put his name on) Put the kid in ure name lol

I am presuming you are not married (as usually you would have his name anyway) and therefore (in the UK) he would be needed to attend the registration to have his name put on the birth certificate anyway. If he doesnt attend its upto you what goes on there as far as the name is concerned.

No. Both my children's names are hyphenated with my last name and their fathers. You can put just your last name on the birth certificate though.
