Congratulations! I found out two days ago that I'm having a girl as well! We're going to name her Annika Rose.

I'm sorry to say, but I agree with your mum.

I say this because both names start with the letter 'H' , and Hannah also ends in the letter H, this smushes the first name and the last name together at bit.

Another reason the names don't flow well together is they are both the exact same number of letters. It is also usually nice to chose a first name with a different number of syllables to the last name, to create a better flow. Perhaps you might like to use it as a middle name?

Here's some other names along similar lines, with similar sounds that you might like to consider.

Anneliese Hammac
Savannah Hammac
Shannon Hammac

Names with 'Ana' or 'Anna' at the end:
Tatiana Hammac
Juliana Hammac
Adriana Hammac
Gianna Hammac
Susannah Hammac
Christiana Hammac

I'm going to include the link to the baby names forum/pregnancy forum that helped me to come up with my baby girl's name. The members there are really great at being honest about what they think about the name, along with providing alternatives if they don't like it. The pregnancy section is also great, and there are many supportive and caring women there. Hope you sign up!

I like the name Hannah, but it does sound kind of funny with your last name. Often names that start with the same letter sound funny, but this one especially does because the sound of the first and last name are so similiar. Hannah might be okay as a middle name, depending on the first name.

Well, I think if you honestly like the name then go for it. Most of the time the name will always sound funny in some way, but if you like the name Hannah, then go for it. But in the next few months you might change your mind anyways.

Oh and congrats on the baby girl!

Im not one to ever criticize about a name..the name Hannah is really really pretty but with the last name it does kind of sound a little off kilter...but then again once you throw the middle name in there it will break it up a bit....Hannah Lynn Hammac....etc...Congratulations....

Hannah is a beautiful name! If you are concerned about how it will sound with the last name, why not add a short middle name?

Why not use it as a middle name and choose another first name? I think it sounds off beat but you can use Hannah as a middle name because you love it so much!

I love the name Hannah. No matter what my last name will be when I get married I will name my little girl Hannah (as long as I get blessed with children) I say name her whatever your heart desires. My pick is Hannah Jane.

I really like the name Hannah but the two together kind of sounds like a cheap stage name..

I think it's beautiful. just make it a good middle name where it goes well. something like Hannah Marie Hammac or
Hannah Nicole Hammac. some of my family don't like the name I picked for my baby girl but I am still naming her Haley Alexis because It's My choice not theirs. They have their own and now I having mine. I did consider Aurora but my mom can't even say that name.

baby names...everyone has an opinion, but only yours and your husband's matter. YOU are the ones who will use this name more times than anyone. do not ignore a name you like, then beat yourselves up mentally each day because you didn't choose it. equally, do not choose it if you're going to question it each time you say it...your daughter will feel the uneasiness before you know it. new babies are a gift and a joy. choose the name you really like, a name that won't give you any doubts. just be sure the final decision is yours, not someone else's.
