I have a laptop- Averatec. The '3' key popped off and I need to know how to pop it back on. I don't want to take it someplace or ship it off just to have a key popped back on. Has anyone ever experienced this before and how did you solve it?

Most laptop keyboard use a scissor shaped hinge (kind of looks like an X from the side) with a rubber boot or some other object to "push" the key back up.

If the hinge is not damaged, you may be able to put everything back "in place" and push the key back down. The key should pop back into place.

In a pinch, I have gently removed a little used key from someplace else (like the windows key, or a symbol key that is rarely used) and used the hardware beneath it to repair the needed key. This only works if the hinge or boot can be moved. Also if the portion of the keyboard is damaged that holds the hinge in place, this may not work as well.

Lineup the slot on the back of the and push it down on to the tab sticking up. Don't you ever clean your keyboard?
