A Pearl Dragon Arowana is an Australian arowana. It looks similar to the Asian Arowana (which is a protected species) except that it has 7 layers of scales instead of 5. These extra layers mean that the fish has smaller scales than the Asian Arowana. The Pearl Dragon also has more red spots on its scales than the Asian Arowana. They commonly have black fins and can range in color from silver to a yellowish or goldish color.

It has a dark blue fin & tail. Some may have small yellow spot on the fin and body. Generally, it is a cheap fish which should not cost more than S$30 (about USD 15) for one about 5" in Singapore. It's also not an endangered fish and thus easier (No Need for permit) to bring oversea. Currently, I have 3 of them which I got for S$10 each size is about 4". If you are interested, I will be giving them up in 6 months time as I'm using them as Tankmate for my other 4 Red Arowanas.

I'm not very sure about this breed but I heard that this Arowana is the cheapest of all. The most expensive breed is the Golden Arowana.
