With the advent of Windows XP, Micrsoft no longer exposes the fdisk utility directly to users. You get the fdisk functionality when installing, reinstalling XP from the install CD. (This is the first part of the process related to partitioning)

FDisk is the partitioning software that is used to Create FAT32 and NTFS hard disk partitions.

If you have Windows 98 you can create floppy rescue disks on which you will see the fdisk.com utility program.

If you have Windows XP (Home or Pro etc...) You can re-partition you hard drive by inserting the Windows XP Operating System Install CD, reboot your computer, boot from the CD and follow the instructions.

***Caution***

Running Fdisk (Or re-partitioning your hard drive) makes it virutally impossible to retrieve the data that is on your hard drive.
