Best thing for you, don't get a tattoo.

I have 4 tattoo's and I'm white, but dark complexion. I decided to put white in 1 of my tatts and it just doesn't show up well at all. Your tattoo artist will be able to help you with colors, provided he's been in the business for a while. In case this is your first tattoo make sure you ask to see some of the artist's work first. And make sure those needles come out of a clear plastic wrapping and that they are unwrapped in front of you. This is your assurance they have been sterilized and not used on someone before you. Good Luck.

You know, that's a hard question to answer. I can research all night long, and it really depends on your chemistry of what will hold. I'm not sure how "dark skinned" you are, but I am looking at a picture of Chauncey Billups and he's got red and yellow. The website is below if you want to look up other celebrities and see how theirs held and showed up. This is the easiest way I found to see African Americans with colored tattoos.

The thing to remember when getting colors is that they fade. It also depends on how well your skin holds. I have six, two with color, and my family does tattooing. White just doesn't hold well or show up well. Red and blue show up well, but with you being dark, I would suggest a lighter blue and not like a navy blue. Good luck.

My best friend Britt and I went and got tattoos. She is black and pretty dark, hers was blue and black and it showed up really well. The trick to getting coloured tattoos to show up on darker skin is to mix a richer pigment. Most tattoo artists know to do this, but make sure you ask yours to do so, or tell them about your fears. Also if it is filled in colour rather than a line, it is more likely to show because it is like a scab over the skin normal colour, it replaces the skin pigment in that particular area. Good Luck!

Yes i have seen them on African Americans and if the colors are dark...like dark blue dark reds etc they are hard to see. I would think the tattoo artist that u go to can maybe help u decide if u should get one with colors or not. ...Good Luck :-)
