Total cost should be around $2500/$3000 or about $38 per month on your gas bill, fully installed and removal of old items and proper clean up. If there is an air conditioning unit to be installed, obviously it will be extra. These costs are for a typical 3000 sq.ft home.

One word to the wise. After you stop the oil delivery, make sure the supply tube outside is properly sealed and big sign hanging on it to say there is no oil tank inside. Many horror stories about oil delivery done to the basement floor and it caught fire ..... etc....

I don't know about converting from oil heat, but we converted from coal heat 8 years ago. We had the cost for the furnace ($3500), the cost to dig for the line from the house to the gas main, the cost to lay the gas line and the cost for Columbia Gas to connect us to the gas main. The total was $6000, but remember, this was 1998.

It all depends on the size of your home and the number of BTU'S need to heat it. We had it done and Keyspan gave us the boilers free because we droped the oil.Call your local gas co and see if they have any programs going on. All we had to do was hire a plumber to install the unit's (2)
