to you in your choice of a candidate, as opposed to rhetoric and empty promises? And how would you evaluate that?

I just want a few things from the next candidate.
1. Re-implement Clinton's PAY AS YOU GO system in order to balance the budget, get rid of the deficits, and get the economy booming for the lower classes also.
2. Either get us out of Iraq or get some more countries in there to help us.
3. Undo all this de-regulation that the republican party has been doing that is skyrocketing cost of living.
4. Increase the minimum wage to 6.15. When you increase the pay of the poor, every cent goes back into the ecomony.
5. Universal healthcare
6. Undo the unconstitutional Faith-based intiatives and put those funds back into social security and medicare.
7. Either reverse Nafta or do as Perot suggested and amend it stating any country we have free trade with must enforce it's minimum wage laws.
8. Bring back incentives for corporations to stay within the states or impose penalties for outsourcing.

heeh that's all.. I don't think I'm asking too much in my next president.

In the next election, not very, it'll be the usual weenies!
The election after this one is going to be an atomic blast!
The stuff is going to hit the fan like never before.
Either the Dems or the Reps are going bye-bye.
Which I can't say it will be a sqeaker for the survivor.

Too bad for the GOP the candidates who could win the general election can't get nominated.

As a Democrat, I could vote for Rudy Giuliani, but he is a social liberal and would never get the vote of the religious conservatives.

performance will be top of the list. the republicans have failed at everything they have tried to do, except get an idiot elected for president (Rove is a genius, hands down). i will not stand for any republican, whatsoever. and after the swifties, i do not care whatsoever if my democratic candidate is accused of flip-flopping or being inconsistent. but absolutely no republican will be considered even for a millisecond. this will be an easy election year

that all depends on peoples willingness to inform themselves and the availability of information. supposing that the "right" candidate put the right information on the radio and television and the "left" candidate was rendered unable for one reason or another well then we might just see a little taste of real democracy.

Those things are not going to be important at all. All people are going to be voting on is anti-establishment with very little weight given to anything else of substance.

I want a homeless guy to run with a cheese sandwich as his VP.\

I think a Black lesbian wheelchair bound veteran would be a good candidate too.

Crucial because we are in such a mess, it will take someone even sharper than Clinton to pull us out of this wreck. This is a critical time for America.

How important? The sad thruth is it will depend on how important the media outlets feel they are.
