They didn't. It was postponed. The Legislature had two dozen items on the agenda for the day's constitutional convention. There was an early vote ot push the gay marriage issue to the top of the agenda, but that was shot down.
They won't take the matter up again for a couple of months.
If you ask me, the whole thing is a waste of time. How does two men or two women getting married affected anyone else's life or hetero marriage.
The amount of money spent on stopping gay marriage could have saved so many children in places like Haiti. It's about time people just allowed other people to live their private lies as they see fit. Stop trying to amend constitutions based on ignorance and bigotry.
