I would jump a fence or tunnel under to better my family. Corporations don`t have feelings, they are not people, so why go after the people.

I do understand this. That is why I joined my state chapter of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corp. I am not on a border state, but there are many illegals here working in construction, ag jobs, etc. My duty (as a legal, law abiding citizen of the good old USA) is to document and report those hiring them to the proper authorities. Wanna join me?

Because we don't have an illegal employer problem. Many people have the misconception that employers knowingly hire illegals. But until a few years ago the IRS website could provide you with a Tax ID number which looks just like a SS number and if the illegal used that number it wouldn't raise any flags. I'm sure there is still a way to get a Tax ID number from the IRS without citizenship but I don't know the details on how it works now.
When was the last time you showed your birth certificate or other proof of citizenship to get a job. All you have to do is give them a SS number that doesn't trigger a flag. How is the employer supposed to know.
There are three problems. No 1 is the IRS and SS admin have been covering up illegal employees to obtain the tax dollars. No. 2 is the lack of control at the Border. No. 3 is it is just too easy not to work in the U.S. too many ways to get out of working. Phony workmen's comp claims, disability, extended unemploymetn benefits etc. leave many jobs unfilled. Jobs where you have a chance of getting dirty or might cause you to sweat go unfilled regardless of the pay scale.
I worked with a company that built a plant in an economically depressed county. They trained the unemployed and opened the plant. Within a month they were running short handed. An exit interview with one of the quiting employees summed it up. If I work here I have to show up at a certain time every day, and then I'm tied up here for the whole day. By the time they take out taxes and I pay for gas to drive back and forth I can do just about as good sitting on the front porch drinking beer and drawing government assistance ($250/wk). All I have to do is report in once a month and the rest of the time I can do what I want so I'm quiting. Now most of the town speaks spanish. And the dead beats sit on their porches drinking beer and complain about the foreigners working at the plant.

I believe If I could magical better my life and that of my families by jumping a fence and going "Illegally" some where else I would. But that isn't the point... People are entering the USA illegally every day to the tune of several thousand. Most are hard working and just trying to better themselves and I can not fault them for that! I can Fault the ones that come over to cash in on a screwed up welfare system.. I can fault the ones that come to the USA to get medical attention and go back to Mexico to their own Medical practice leaving the several thousand dollar bill for someone else to pay. I can fault a person who comes to this country and because he/she is illegal ignores tax laws and sends money also illegally gotten back home to benefit their own economy. And Yes I can fault the man who hires an illegal and pays 1/2 what that person would lawfully make if he were legal and only gets a slap on the wrist and the illegal gets deported. Immigration reform has been long over due. Let them enter but let them enter legally and I wont have a problem at all because they are doing jobs that are badly needed. Corporations have always looked at the bottom line of their profit margin, so maybe its time to hit that profit HARDER and force them to see the error of their ways. Its a very mixed issue, and one that isn't going away soon... Thanks for the question.

Ok scott DO YOU REALLY THINK WAL MART GIVES A FUC ABOUT 10,000 dollars. I bet the heads at walmart gave the manager of the store a incentive to just go with the flow of the persecution and make it look like they were trying to cooperate with the government. They save MILLIONS if not billions by hiring illegals each year. They dont have to pay medical for them, they dont need a reason to fire one them and when they do they dont have to shell out unemployment, if a worker gets injured at the job its like oh well your fired sorry for ya NEXT!!!!. They do this stuff because they know that the employee isnt going to say anything for fear of being deported and I bet there is a lot of sexual harassment and rape going on with these illegals because of this too. MAKES ME SICK and I really dont blame the immagrents hell if I was a innocent person stuck in that situation i would do the same thing if i couldnt get in legal. The problem isnt them because they wouldnt come over here if they knew that it would be hard to make a living. I think alot of employers are abusing the question on applications that asks if you are legal to work in the US. I mean if i saw that question answered no that would be the end of the process NEXT!!! but No they go ahead and call them anyway. So why are these people that cant even prove they are citizens of this country get a job but a convict that was born here cant???? Its like the government is asking for the double wammy "Ok your illegal and we arnt going to do much about you as long as you work and dont cause trouble, even though for all we know you could have been wanted for murder wherever you came from, and you over there either your selling drugs cause you cant get a job you just got outta prison for selling drugs and you really cant get a job now so we are just going to throw you back in jail and pay for you to live and eat but the guy that took your job and put you back in here dosnt have to pay for you to stay here" WHAT FUCIN SENCE DOES THAT MAKE!?!?!?!?!???

Right now, I see a multitude of problems with employers &
big business. Hiring illegals just happens to be the safest one
for them to pick on.
I have alot of gripes about how employers treat their employees.
No one wants to hear that. It's just another shame on America.
