Well, after Austin's last match with the rock at Wrestlemania 20, he was no longer an in-ring competitor. Due to his neck injury and having his neck fused, he couldn't perform on an acceptable level, any longer. After his stint as Raw's "sheriff", he made the occasional television and pay-per-view appearance.

When his book ("The Stone Cold Truth") was released, around the time he was the "sheriff", he did some talk show appearances, as well. He inducted Bret "The Hitman" Hart at this year's WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony, in Chicago. He has 4 picture deal with WWE. His first movie called "the condemned" is slated to be the first movie released. Austin's first big-screen picture was in the Adam Sandler movie, the remake of "The Longest Yard", co-starring fellow wrestlers, Bill Goldberg, Kevin Nash, and The Great Khali (aka Dalip Singh).

Austin is living in L.A., last time I heard. I'm sure he still has a house in San Antonio. It seems Stone Cold is just being Stone Cold, by keeping a low profile and doing some projects, on the side for WWE. I think he resolved his legal battles with his ex-girlfriend, Tess Bruneau. Whom, incidentally, is a psycho. She tried to stab Steve. It seems to me, Austin would have more success with women if he elaborated on his search criteria; mainly big breasts.

After Eddy Guerro's death, Vince was doing some rather distasteful stories, referencing Eddie's name. Austin and also the Rock, distanced them selves from the WWE, at that time. Austin and WWE will always be on speaking terms. With in the next couple of years, we should be seeing Austin in a movie.

8/3/97: In one of WWE's scariest moments, Stone Cold Steve Austin breaks his neck when Owen Hart connects with an unconventional piledriver. Somehow, Austin manages to pull out the SummerSlam victory to claim the Intercontinental Championship.

His doctors advised him not to wrestle anymore he could become paralyzed.
