If you lined up everyone in America, in order of how much they made, and picked out the one in the exact middle, with as many people on the left side of him being equal to the number on the right... how much would that one person make?

I want opinions, based on your personal experiences... what you think based on what you have seen in your life... no right or wrong answers...

oh, and if you don't mind... state your political affiliation... I'm just curious...

I know the real answer, according to the census...

according to the census... it's around $23,000 in 2004 I think were the most recent figures... which is about $11 an hour...

some of you may have been thinking about household income (many of which have two and some three earners), which is at around $45,000...

not very high... and 50 percent of America is below these levels...

$10.50/hour. Fast food rest. have increased what they pay and people coming out of college are starting at higher wages than in the past. This does not account for the illegals working under the table though.

I'd say the average American makes close to $40,000/yr...I'm a Republican what difference does that make? Probably means I'm more knowledgeable, right?
