Yes, you can put songs from your computer AS LONG AS the songs are mp3 and the following formats (which you can important from CDs or somethings download online for free) OR those download from iTunes Music store.

Yes, you can put songs from your computer AS LONG AS the songs are MP3, MP3 VBR, Audible (formats 2, 3 and 4), Apple Lossless, WAV, AIFF Formats.

By the way you DO NOT have to convert songs from MP3 to iTunes format since iPod can play MP3 remember?

well you can only get songs onto your ipod from ituneslike from the store or your personal collection of cd's, but ipods are kinda exspenzive. i got a creative labs mp3 player for like 300 dollers and it's really just like a video ipod but it hold like 1000 more songs and you can get them at best buy. and the video ipod was like 300 too but for less gb (gigga bytes)

As long as the songs are in mp3 format you can play them on an iPod regardless of where you got the song.

technically you do. cause an iPod is diffrent from an MP3 player becasue it can't even play MP3's!!! lol
i plays a type of file called: AAC& MP4
in iTunes go to menu>add file to library
add the MP3 you want and it'll convert it into AACso that you could play it in your iPod.
you could also play the music in your CD's in your iPod.
all you have to do is rip the songs from the CD into iTunes.

WMV (windows media files) can't be played on iTunes.
but there's a way around it.
you could burn the songs onto a CD, and then rip them onto iTunes.

kool huh?

both. you can download Itunes, which is on the CD that will come with your Ipod and then load CDs onto your computer using Itunes, and then load THAT onto your Ipod. Or you can buy songs from Itunes Shop...or whatever its called.
