You can have sex all through your menstruation safely, any time before, during and after. Don't worry, it won't make his penis fall off, and it won't hurt you either. You can enjoy yourself any time of the month!

Everyone pay attention -- there is NO SAFE TIME. If you are determined not to use birth control, make sure you are paying close attention to and recording your daily temperature and consistency of cervical mucus, to determine your own pattern of ovulation. No two women are the same. Only when you know exactly when you are ovulating should you have sex without any other protection. And keep in mind that this system does not protect against STIs.

you can get pregnant at anytime of the month. semen can stay alive for up to 3 days inside of you. you would probably be safe the day you start if you are into that.
