I was always against the ACLU. Now I think we need them to protect us against our President!

Thankfully, yes. But who knows, if a Republican wins the 2008 election, freedom of speech may well end up being ruled illegal.

They're going after a school board in Miami right now that wants to ban books about Cuba. Screw the First Amendment, they don't want their kids learning anything except how horrible it is there. The official US gubmint propaganda version of life in Cuba, that's the only information the think the kids should be allowed to have. Thank god the ACLU is there to stop them from crapping on our nation's Constitution.

Why shouldn't it be legal. At least until the totalitarian state completely takes over, I think it's legal to be a member of any organization. More or less.
