...when you wave to someone and they don't say hello or wave back?
Like I was riding the bus today (damn cars in the shop) and there's this girl that I'd seen from work on the bus. I hadn't noticed her when I boarded, but when suddenly locked eyes, I smiled and gave a friendly wave. And would you believe this *****, not only didn't wave, but gave me a snotty look back. I've been nothing but friendly to the chick....why are people so rude???

Yeah, it's very annoying; people should make an effort to be more friendly, especially when someone else starts the initiative. Nonetheless, just because she chooses to be rude, doesn't mean you need to be. Turn the other cheek. Try to love people even when they hate you without a reason.

Maybe she waved and smiled to YOU when you got on the bus. You didn't see her, but she would have felt insulted! So it's hardly surprising that she glared at you later on!
When you find yourself in that situation it's best to actually go and SPEAK to the person - be friendly, maybe say something like "Oh hi! I didn't see you there, did you just get on? How are you? What a nice day it is, I normally travel by car but it's being repaired right now ..." just to try and normalise the situation!

u just have to accept the fact that there are rude people out there. continue to be nice to her even if she don't do the same towards u. it may be hard, but she'll see that ur only trying to be friendly towards her.

I know! Nothing pisses me off more than someone shunning simple friendliness and courtesy.
