Cheating is not playing by the rules.

So the answer depends on what the rules are for that relationship. If the rules accomodate a swinger's extramarital sex, then it's not cheating. But both parties have to agree to those rules.

Uhh...YES!!

BTW, just because the cheating half of the couple happens to have sex with multiple people at once...it does not - NOT! - make him or her a swinger. Just a plain old cheater.

Some couples are okay with one person playing separately with the other's blessing, but this only works very rarely. And any lifestyle couple worth their salt would REQUIRE a meeting or at least a phone call with the other non-playing partner to confirm that the playing partner was, indeed, on the level. This is standard. If the couple gets the run-around, they simply won't play with them. Some couples do, but most that I know would not.

Bottom line, if the playing partner is having sex without his partner's explicit knowledge, approval and encouragement - in other words, not respecting his or her partner's feelings and wishes - then he/she is cheating. NOT swinging.

Yes,
sounds like the marriage is not between two compatible people if one person needs to swing all over the place.. don't use or be used -- life's too short and there is too much to miss out on if not pursuing the true connection in a marriage.

it means they have multiple sex partners outside of a committed relationship. like, they have a boyfriend/girlfriend but still engage in sex with others. most of the time both partners in the relationship are swingers and have other swinger couples as friends that they all switch partners. swinging is VERY, VERY risky far as transmitting STD's but if all partners are VERY responsible it can be done safely. personally i would never do it but it's not nessecarily bad if that's what you're into

It's cheating if the non-swinging mate does not agree nor condone it. Which is stupid if you ask me because if he/she marries a swinger, other parties would have to be expected.

Did you promise each other to be faithful when you married?
If yes, then it's cheating.

yes. Sex with anyone you aren't married to is cheating. It doesn't matter who knows about it. I wonder why people with such lack of morality get married at all!
