Two specfic ones in particular. One is about a race car driver who breaks up with his girlfriend right before a race and he dies it is not dead man's curve or last kiss or don't worry baby. The other is based on the urban legend of the girl who got killed on her way to prom and years later a guy picks her up and takes her to prom then she has him drop her off at the cemetery and the next day he finds his sports coat on her headstone. The first one, I think is "leader of the Pack", by the Shang-ri-las
and I cant think of the other...I'll check and e-mail if I can find it.

Laurie by Dickey Lee is the 2nd one and I'm not sure about a race car driver, but theres Leader of the Pack by The Shang-ralas, another teen tragedy song.

The first one is "Tell Laura I Love Her" by Ray Peterson on RCA Records, 1960. The second one is "Laurie" by Dickie Lee on TCF Hall Records, about 1968. He drops her off at home, she has his sweater, he goes back to get it, finds out she died a year ago on her birthday, he goes to the cemetary and its lying on her grave. Are you sure the first one is one where they break-up? "Tell Laura" he enters a stock car race to earn money to buy an engagement ring, and gets killed. That's the only one that comes close to your description that I can think of.

leader of the pack by the shangrilas was about a motorcycle rider whos girlfriend just broke up with him.
