setting a goal and accomplishing it.
you probably need to overcome adversity as well.

That is, no one who is rich nepotistically, is a success-- fortunate, but not a "winner" -- since no challenge was presented.

Nor is someone a success who draws a line in the sand and then jumps over it.

The task must be difficult to overcome, either particualrly to the individual, or from a cultural perspective.

A slave may be considered a success if he liberates himself, where the non-slave takes their freedom for granted and is not a success on that basis.

A genius may think herself a failure, who's repetitive or isn't making the arguments she knows she could-- but from the rest of the world she's a struggling virtuoso who's brought myriad insight.

So there's this human success sense.. as in "She's a success"
And there is another which is the effect of a performance-- the theatrical play was a success, the heart transplant a success. Overcoming adversity is not a necessary condition in these cases.

The achievement of something desired, got to have a passion for some things without it nothing can be called success; to overcome the impossible that brings to to achiving the the goal that was set and it means you were successful. Ok if that was too complicated to understand than success is something that you win at something instead of lose.

Doing what you want to do, not necessarily on the time you want to do. I mean, just wait... it will come.
