I have breastfed three kids and I don' think it made my nipples look weird. Even if it did make nipples look weird I think it would still be worth it since It was a great experience.

When you have just finished feeding your baby, your nipples may look elongated., but they will go back to their normal shape almost immediately.

If they hurt, or if they look a bit like a new tube of lipstick, your baby may not be latching on correctly. If you notice anything *weird* about them, you can ask a local La Leche League Leader to check it out for you. There is usually a very simple way to correct the problem.

To find a local La Leche League Group or Leader, please go to:
http://www.lalecheleague.org/contact.html
If you don’t see a Group near you, call the nearest Leader, because not all Groups are listed.

If there is no LLL Leader in your neighbourhood, you might want to see a board certified (IBCLC) lactation consultant. LCs usually charge for services. To find a local LC go to :

I had a Nipple Piercing once, i will allow you to recognize it isnt well worth it. It became by no potential no longer painful and ended up having to take it our a three hundred and sixty 5 days later because of rejection. it may also harm the nerves on your nipple to the position you have not any sensation in them and then you wont be able to breastfeed out of that breast. One engorged breast ought to suck in case you couldnt breast feed out of both. With the engorgement of your breasts the piercing ought to very surely grow to be your breast and reason an infection a twin of a abdomen piercing . yet another element in case you're making plans on breastfeeding i ought to easily wait till you're executed having children in the previous you do it.

No. In fact, it shouldn't make your nipples *temporarily* weird looking, either; that could be a sign of a problem.

No. They look perfectly normal and frankly they looked perfectly normal while I was nursing as well. The only change was that they got darker but that went away.
