I asked my pediatrician about this a few weeks ago, and he said that unless your baby has sensitivities to things like baby wipes or lotions, there is no reason to use it at all. I used it for 6 months before I switched, and haven't had any problems since changing detergents. Hope it helps.

I never really used baby detergent, after about two months I realized that keeping my baby's laundry separate from the rest of the family's was just a too big a pain. I use All Free and Clear for all our laundry.

I usually changed them to a gentle laundry detergent around 6 months. My main reason was that I always have piles of laundry to do, and the extra baby laundry was such a hindrance. My children & I all have sensitive skin anyways, so we use the free & clear stuff. It worked out better. And, I still wash my older boys' muddy stuff separately anyways.

As long as your baby doesn't seem to be allergic to anything you can stop using it. Try using half the amount of original detergent just to make sure the baby will not have a reaction then bump it up to a regular amount. That's what I did and my baby is 2 months old and he is fine.

I never used baby detergent with any of my three kids. I've always used a "scent-free" detergent and they never had a problem. The baby detergent had a strong baby scent to it that I couldn't stomach.
Wash a set in your regular detergent. If she gets a rash, go to scent-free and wash all your clothes that way. If she doesn't, you can continue using your regular soap.

I still use it for m son and he's almost 1 now. I LOVE the way it smells!! (Purex Baby) I think you can stop now as long as your daughter doesn't have an allergy to the regular laundry soap.

ummm im trying to think how long i used it......i think up until about 10 months... you can go ahead and try washing the babys laundry in yours and if the baby gets bumps or a little rash them you know her skin is too sensitve yet...
