A paradox, how can you even know you've lied to yourself or even lie to yourself for that matter when it is you, who lying and know that you're attempting a lie; therefore its not even a lie, but more so a comment to oneself.

I could not be lying to myself because I would be the first to know. I could only deny the truth and not accept it but to lie is telling yourself to have a separate brain so that the other does not know what the other is thinking.

Hmmm.... I don't think so. I don't think you really can lie to yourself, because you always know what you are thinking and if you are aware that something is a lie, you would conversely know what the truth is. Very interesting question.

I'll admit it, I lie to myself daily when I say I'm going to quit smoking today. I know I'm not going to, but I tell myself I will anyway.
