To be very honest, if i would have been you, I will not look forward to draw my self into job and business that has already taken such large part of my life. Rather I will re-invest my life to discover the life, get larger experience of life and try to do all that I could possibly not do when I would have caught with day to day hassle of job and family. I remember a quote always when I get on a decision path like this: "when you are on your death bed, you will never wish that you would have worked more". And that's so true when I think of it. Life is lot more beautiful beyond work and business. Discover the beauty and magic of life till you can because you never know in this world when it is is end of your chance to play. Take my suggestion, just forget about job and work and re-discover yourself with new energy, go see and do things that you have restrained yourself so far with in all positive, good and healthy way. You will never lack a direction and happiness with this.

Time really is ruthless...it never stops or gives us much time to breathe or enjoy. It's easy to feel 'washed up' when life gets frustrating, but instead of letting it depress you, you have to let it challenge you. I think you may be doing the right thing by considering reinvention, but on the other hand, your work won't always make you happy. To achieve real happiness, I think you need to determine why you feel washed up and figure out why you are reluctant to wake up on Monday morning. Is it really about a career change? Or do you blame unhappiness on your job? Maybe picking up an old and forgotten hobby or getting back into the gym will improve the way you feel. When is the last time you took a vacation? I guess my point is that when considering reinvention for yourself, you should think about more than your career. I wish you good luck in your quest and am confident that you will be successful in your reinvention...you can do it.

Hey Bill R, its tough I know!
First make a list of all the things:
What you're good at
What you enjoy doing
Favorite Hobbies
Can you turn the list into something you can do for work?
Start a business or use the skills to find something you WANT to do?
With the right mindset, you can do anything you want to do! We all need to reinvent ourselves, we just need to understand what it is that makes us happy and look forward to getting up everyday.
I hate my job too after 9 years so Im working to start my own business incorporating my skills & hobbies to work from home.
Best of luck!.

find something that you really enjoy doing, and take courses, and start doing that part time until you can start working at it full time. I know a man who started making hand made furniture after he retired, and now makes more than he did while working full time. At 72 he can now afford to do all the things he wanted to do all his life, and its a shame, because he could have been doing that all his life.
