why were the 70's the best?

Great music.
Great TV shows.
Not so wrapped-up in political correctness.
Gas, and everything else for that matter was a whole lot cheaper.
Many devices that we take for granted today were invented in the '70s.

I did hate those Earth Shoes though. Made it feel like you were walking uphill everywhere you went.

The 60s and the 70s were a great time because tv and media was changing. Information started flowing more quickly. Back in the day if a movie was in the theatre it would be 2 or 3 years before you would see it on tv. People were challenging the status quo. Race relations, sex & politics. It was the begining of society today. Tv was going from b&w to color. Albums were going from plastic to tape. People who were born before the 70s don't realize how far technology has come in the last 30-40 years. Nobody owned a computer back then no one owned a cell phone. It was a simpler time yet still enough goodies to make it a good time to be alive.

I don't think the 70's was the best. I sort of liked the late 60's.. ok, maybe a little of the early 70's, but not much of the mid or late 70's. I like the music of that era (Late 60's early 70's)

I was much younger,,,the cars we're better,,actually had fast cars with big block engines,,and you could filll the tank with gas!!! gas was like .40 cents,,,a glass of beer would cost you .25 cents,,you could buy a case of beer at the bar $2.99 and no deposit,,,people actually liked other people,,,the music was better,,NO RAP!!,,no cell phones,,if you got stopped for driving drunk(most cops would take you home,,,no ticket)drugs we're there(not as popular as today,,less variety's)more free sex,,,gay's we're not as open(not that I have a problem with it),,,and it seemed that the money you made would go farther,, still had drive in movie's,,,life was just better!!!

ahh the days of innocence lost forever, back then drugs did not kill you the first time you tried them, neither did sex, music was great, economy was pretty good I guess, I was a kid so I was not really paying atention. bell bottoms and hip huggers!!!! ok, I did not get into the disco thing but oh well it was there too!!!There was just not as much ANGST back then!!

Everything was cheaper.....people were nicer and friendlier, the music was terriffic and there were a lot more people in my life. I've lost many loved ones since then.........:(
