No, I don't think that he is Satan, I just think that he is uninterested in the middle-lower income people of America. In the past the government did put a stop to hikes in gasoline prices, the sub-prime lenders should have been known about by the government before all of these people lost everything. There was a time when government did it's job for all of us, not just the wealthy few. It's not all G.B's. fault, but it is the fault of those who he has appointed to positions that could have made better decisions for the country as a whole.

He's the father
The boy's powers develop over time because he is a half breed. That makes him less immune to his environment but more immune to Kryptonite. As his immunities build he will be almost as powerful as his father but with out the whole green Kryptonite thing. Red Kryptonite is another matter.
