I set a minnow trap in our pond, and if I catch some by morning, I plan to keep 2 or 3. I already have a bowl, two small plastic plants, and some goldfish food. Do they even eat goldfish food? Please help!

they need alot of oxygen id put an aeriator in the fish bowl fish are cool ,,,good luck :)

Minnows are easy and fun to keep. By your description it sounds as if you have already set up a nice home for the new fishies. I believe the goldfish food will be ok, the only difference between goldfish food and tropical fish food is that goldfish food has color enhancing nutrients and different minerals. Minnows will eat probably just about anything, including goldfish food. You may consider buying regular food in the future, but for now it sounds as if you're ready to go! Good luck!

Minnows stay alive a long time as long they've got enough room to swim in, oxygen and the right amount of food. Some people to talk to is the fishing bait stores. They have minnow ponds in their store. Why minnows? I only catch fish with them. Mainly cropy. Good luck with them.
