that when a women is pregnant, you cant drink cough medicine or you'll lose the baby?

never heard that myself. In fact i know a pregnant women who had a terrible cough her OB told her to take a cough med. Even people who do hard drugs don't always lose the baby I know herion addicts who carried to term "with birth defects". You should just always ask your doc what is safe. Everything has risk, tylnol sp? is the only thing my doc recomends for headache aches pains cramps during pregnancy. I know people who were giving strong meds 4 differnt reasons during pregnancy. There is no SURE way to lose the baby without a abortion other things may cause a defected damaged baby.

I'm not a Doctor, but cough medicine contains alcohol, which in it's own right can be harmful to the fetus. I doubt it would cause the loss of the baby though. It may be ill-advised and you should consult a medical professional.

You have to be very careful about which medications to take. Even ones that you buy over the counter. If you have any questions your local pharmasicst can assist you. But some cough medications have more alcohol content than a glass of wine.

I don't know if that is true or not but I didn't take any meds while pregnant just to be safe. It is better to be safe than sorry. Look for other alternatives. I know that honey works really good for cough. Sounds silly but I heard it works.

Not necessarily but certain medicines can have a negative effect on your child. Always consult a doctor before taking anything they can tell you medicine that is safe.

You can't take certain cough medicines. You can never "drink" cough syrup.

No, it's not true. You just have to make sure to check with your doctor before you take ANY medications to make sure they're okay for pregnancy. Also, make sure that the cough medication you pick doesn't contain alcohol.

When a woman is pregnant she should consult her Doc. before taking any meds including over the counter (Better to be SAFE than sorry)

i wouldnt take cough medicine..but ask your doc he might recomend something safe. never take any medicine without asking the doc...i would judt suck on cough drops...
