EXPLANATION
one "per cent" is one cent in a dollar.
so 2% of a dollar would be two cents.

two per cent of a hundred dollars would be 2c x 100, ie 2 dollars
so to get a % of a number, take two zeros off it and multiply by the number of percents you need
20,000 take off two zeros gives you 200, times two makes 400.
