Well, you chop off the head, you kill the beast. Go for the high-ranking officials, then the soldiers and army below will fall into confusion, and you can bring down the super power using this philosophy.
Divide the enemy, and conquer when they are engulfed in their own weakness.

If I wanted to bring down the USA the first thing I would do is sabotage it's manufacturing base, but getting companies to move their factories to other countries, like China, Taiwan, etc...
Then when it's time to invade, how would they make weapons?
In WWII we have a HUGE manufacturing base, and when war broke out, every industry was able to produce, make, build, anything the war needed. They literally turned on a dime.
If a similar thing happened in 10 or 20 years we would be screwed, having outsource all out manufacturing.
Moving jobs overseas is not just a matter of free markets and capitalism, its also a matter of national security.

******** is correct. I would use the same tactics that they used to become a superpower: commercialism. You don't have to conquer. You just sell them products until they are dependent on your economy. Then you buy them out a piece at a time. Eventually, you run the country and the people don't even know it.

Rack up the government's debt with unfriendly competitors
Make goofball religious thinking part of the White House discussions
Try to lock up territory that has oil on it rather than lead the world in post-petroleum technology

Diversify it's culture, tear down it's borders and throw away the language. Look at the Romans and Greeks in history. They lost their identity. Now look at America now.
