The compass in POTC II supposedly points to one's "heart's desire" but does Elizabeth want Jack? or merely something he can give her (e.g. freedom, life of piracy,etc.) The potential "romance" between Jack and Liz may not spark because as Knightley has said in interviews, it was a "kiss with a twist." But, hey--it probably just makes the story a little more interesting. Any thoughts?

FORGET WILL (okay Orlando Bloom is really hot)---but Liz and Jack just might make a pretty couple. But let's not forget, she did BETRAY him afterall. Norington said to her "I wish you would look like that while thinking of me"---then Elizabeth responds "...I just trust him [Jack] that's all.." Then Norington says.." Do you ever wonder how [Will] got on the Flying Dutchman in the first place". Here Norington is trying to discredit her slight admiration for Jack.
Besides, it was a pretty LONG kiss for a betrayal. I'd say she actually enjoyed it. ---and who wouldn't?

No, the compass points to one's heart desire, or Davey Jones' said heart. Which is in the chest, which is what the compass points to.

i thought the same as you...but then when jack had it it pointed to her but thats cus the heart was under her....sooo i think that she wants him..but i'm not sure..i guess we'll have to wait till the third one to find out!
