i found that the part where Aileen was raped in the car particularly disturbing in "monster" but i think I'd have to go with "boys don't cry"
this shouldn't have happened in the 1st place. he was so young. its just gut wrenching to know how those rednecks killed him (and a few others that wasn't showed in the movie)
its just wrong, and they were so in love. This is a typical example about how a girl fell in love with the “person and not the gender” but too bad the society doesn’t necessarily share that view.....
i hope all hate crimes never happen again....... its just heart breaking. for those who wanna know more, i've attached links below....

Boys Don't Cry was more heartbreaking. I mean all the folks in either of those movies had run ins with the law, none of which I find heartbreaking because they put themselves in that situation. The reason I find Boys Don't Cry more heartbreaking is that if it weren't for the type of society he lived in - if people could have just accepted him for him, he wouldn't have been raped and he wouldn't have been killed. Nobody deserves that. There's a huge difference between a prostitute getting in a car flirting with a guy she doesn't know then being raped and a person being raped just for trying to be themselves and trying to have someone else's companionship. Its heartbreaking/frustrating that we live in a society where people feel like they can treat one another that way. Boys Don't Cry throws the ball a little closer to my park than Monster anyway - I can't really relate to Monster as well.

both are about two tollay different topics. "Boy's Don't Cry" hits home with me because I'm a gay woman, but Monster hit home for everyone in this world (or at least it should) when it comes to race, and also shows how strange and unexpected life can be.

Boys Don't Cry. The extreme violence impacting a small group made the violence more mind-wrenching, as did the source of the violence -- characters exhibiting the extremes of homophobia and sociopathic behaviours, and inflicting horrific pain in their own families as well as on others.

I think Moster was actually alot more sad.........Aileen finally finds someone to love & care for, tries to go straight, clean up, get a legit job and her lover Selby bitches about money.......at the end Selby rats her out and yet Aileen says its ok, she understands and goes to her death loving this woman that seemingly didnt know how to love back....It seems that given a chance Aileen would have done anything (and did) for someone she loved.....

Considering I've only seen half of it, I would have to say Monster. The other I have never seen, so this is somewhat partial.
