The songs are in a different location. Search for them.

I had a similar problem with iTunes a while back, but I can't remember if it was the SAME problem. Just go and download iTunes again. That's what I did. It brought everything back the way I had it. I hope this helps.

If you got the songs from a CD, then iTunes never had the files, it was just using them off a CD. Try copying the files off the CD to somewhere on the computer, then add them to iTunes...
That, or maybe you deleted the files

if u have all of your songs on ur ipod
go to this website and follow the instructions
it will tell u how to get them off of ur ipod and back on to ur computer if ur using a pc
