Some people say homosexuality is a genetic trait. If this is true, it may be possible to turn off the homosexual gene while the baby is in the womb.
If science progresses to that point, would you make that decision?

Pay attention, folks. I'm not mentioning GENDER (male or female), I'm talking about sexuality (straight or gay).

Yes I would, and i would make him straight. Now, i'm not homophobic or anything, but there is so much prjudice in the world today that I woud want my baby to have the easiest course through life. And i think that all parents should want their children to have as few challenges as possible. I'm sorry to say it, but being gay is a challenge. If I had a gay child, and i couldn't choose, of course I would support him in every way, but for his sake, it would be easier being straight.

That would go with just about anything that was genetic then, not just the homosexual gene. If I could chose which genes and which didn't make it into My baby, I would leave it as nature as intended it. I want that baby to have his own personality and genes make up so much that, if I were to pick and chose which genes My baby had, I could mess h I'm up worse than I am.
And hell, if that was the case Most people would take out all the bad hereditary genes...and for some...there wouldn't be anything left.

you ask the question with a presupposed idea that is false. sexuality is learned,that's why brothers and sisters aren't attracted to each other, society, (rightly so) and their parents tell them its wrong to be physically attracted , and sexualy attracted to your sibling. and just like how in some countries in africa its nothing to see a woman topless, and that doesn't excite any men, but in america men usually get very happy to see pretty women topless because they are taught that growing up, that breasts are a sexual object when they aren't for sex at all, but for feeding the baby(ies).... so i can't answer your question , it is based on a falsehood.

I don't see the harm psychologically, but physiologically I don't really trust or have confidence in the medical community for it to be as totally as safe or without side effects as they might say. So no.

Who cares if the kid turns out gay – as long as it’s possible for them to find happiness.

No, think about how many other things we could solve with the money it would take to do something so trivial.

Assholes he's not talking about the child's sex, he's talking about it's sexuality (heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual...);
Also, my answer is most probably no.
