Basically you are in a really bad situation because you are an enabler, it may not seem like it but you are. You need to get out of that relationship because by being there when he gets back he knows he can continue to do this to you over and over again.

Sounds like you got a real loser on your hands. If he was the best guy in the world, all his attention would be on you and not the bottle. You shouldn't be a part-time love to him. And no, once an addict, always an addict.

dont get with a binge drinker. he might get drunk really badly and then go crazy and like rape u when he is the one drunk or worse--- u might die in a car accident. u may not be able to convince him to not drive becus drinking makes the person like really crazy and it impairs their judgement and all that crap so.. just... dont get with someone who drinks a lot. jsut maybe alittle bit.

I've known one most of my life...they are thirty two now and haven't stopped at all...well besides the 50 times at rehab...I feel pretty cynical about the human race as a whole, if people want to waste their lives and hurt everybody around them, then they will...please don't waste your life...you deserve better.

you cannot help people fix themselves

Yes, they can stop, but like any problem, the person has to realize that they have a problem. You can't force them to see it, they have to come to that conclusion themselves - otherwise you will likely just drive them away. They will either see that they have a problem, or drink themselves into some serious trouble.

It is real hard to say for sure. Some guys do change as they get older and wiser (!?) but some don't - depends on the guy and what he has got to keep him at home!

He has a one way ticket to Loserville. It is not normal to disappear for days at a time, I bet there is some drug use too.
