When do you give up? I thought I could have a career but I was wrong.

There is never any goal that you can not achieve. I am not just a strong believer in that, but also an example of it. I am in my mid thirties, and with only a high school diploma, I figured I was stuck working in factories, and minimum wage jobs for life. I always had a goal to become a psychologist (I was always fixing everyone's problems and being a listening ear), and at age 33, I enrolled at a University, and am now a Sophomore on my way to a bachelor's degree (Bachelor of Science). Once I obtain that, I am going on for my Masters Degree.

I have had many goals, and a couple I have not achieved YET!!! You can always reach your goals, its just that some take more time than others. I will NEVER give up, just take it at a slower pace maybe. There's nothing wrong in taking your time w/ something and completing it !!!! Good luck !

Goal setting can be a very important part of your life. Whether it be personal or career.

The important thing is to set goals you can achieve. Don't make them easy; but don't make them impossible. Setting an impossible goal normally leads to failure and discouragement. This can lead to quitting or giving up.

Reaching an attainable makes you feel great and want more. Then you can set your next goal even a little higher.

In short: don't push yourself to failure.

You do not have an unrealistic goal. You can have a career! Why would you think you couldn't? Maybe because you got let go? There are a million other places you can work at. Put your mind to it and you can achieve anything.....man, I need to take my own advice! Seriously though, please tell me why you couldn't have a career?

I wantde to go to medical school until I confused the sternum for the scrotum on a practical exam.

I fell into my career of engineering. I thoroughly enjoy it.

You'll have a career. Sometimes you need to set your sights on something different (even if you don't know what that something is).

I at one point wanted to defuse bombs. Once I realized that I
suck at high levels of math and physics is boring I accepted the
truth and thought of a different career.
