I grind the meat myself- usually top sirloin. No seasoning, it only kills the flavor of the beef-
cook about 1 minute on each side, just so it's pale brown on the outside, and still cold and bloody on the inside.
Add ketchup, American cheese, and fried onions with a toasted bun.
Fries or tater tots on the side.

Nothing fancy: First split and toast a sour dough english muffin (spread mayonnaise on one side & deli mustard on the other), ground sirloin patty grilled medium well, grilled onion rings, sliced tomatoes, lettuce. A turkey or vegeburger probably would be healthier than beef and would be acceptible too).
But it's a mess to eat because the english muffin doesn't contain the fixings as well as a large toasted hamburger bun would..

What goes into my dream hamburger?
Ground sirloin 90% lean
medium salsa liquefied in a blender and kneaded into the beef
I grill over hickory chunks, not charcoal
Put it on a sourdough roll with pepper-jack cheese, mayo, red leaf lettuce and tomato, and a dash (or 10) of tabasco

hamburger, oats, season all, garlic salt, minced onion, and an egg (to hold it all together ever so nicely). then on top (inbetween the top and bottom bun) I would put a little bit of lettuce, two slices of tomatoes, a little bit of fresh onion, mayo, ketchup mustard, dill pickle relish, bacon, and maybe some ranch dressing. mmmmm.......... oh ya, I forgot the cheese. american.

My hubby makes the best burgers ever...
He uses ground sirloin, 90% lean, and then adds garlic powder, horseradish, A1 sauce, black pepper, Montreal steak seasoning, and onion powder. He grills them over charcoal, and then we top them with white cheddar and swiss cheese, applewood bacon, tomato, red leaf lettuce, and put it on an onion roll. Just thinking about it makes me hungry! :)
