First, losing your mucus plug does not mean you are in labor. Labor can occur hours to weeks after the mucus plug dispels. If your amniotic sac is still intact-your water hasn't broken-then your baby is still safely tucked in its protective bubble there. The sac is still protecting it from infection. If you are having other signs of pre-labor , it might be smart to take it a little easy. You want to make it to 36 weeks if you can so that the baby's lungs will be fully developed and ready to take on the world. But, first and foremost...TALK TO A DOCTOR OR MIDWIFE. If you aren't comfortable with your doctor, doulas and midwives are a wealth of knowledge. Semen (which is a natural source of progesterone) has been shown to induce labor. But, only a professional could really give you medical advice and how your body is handling your pregnancy is a very individual thing. Good luck and Congrats!

Ivillage says that sex is okay as long as you haven't broken your water, you need to be sure of that.
I'm sorry about your doc, it's so hard to find a good OB. I have two and the one is a real jerk too. At least I have the option of seeing the one I like unless there is an emergency or vacation.
If you have a birthing center in your area, you might be able to find a midwife there to help you out, as a back up...it might not hurt to look into it.
Good luck to you. Take care of youself and that baby!

If you have lost your mucus plug the onset of labor is approaching, generally with in 24 to 36 yours. Once that has been expelled, you absolutely should not engage in sexual intercourse, or bathe in a tub. I would absolutely advise your Dr., about loosing this.

Umm if you lost your full mucus plug then you would be going into labor right now. your water would be broken b/c the mucus plug holds in the sack of water.

Just because your doctor is a jerk does not mean people online know any better. Only a medical professional can tell what you need to do to keep you and your baby safe. Good luck.

i'd talk to a midwife ASAP, dropping your plug should be standard yet with the discomfort i'd flow see someone, in the experience that they imagine toddler is coming they could attempt to offer up your labour and delivers injections to assist babies lungs advance in case. it ought to easily be how toddler is mendacity or something elementary yet surprising to be careful. desire all is nicely I lost my plug at 33weeks and became feeling ill,no discomfort tho toddler got here 2days previous due.

My mom had this same problem with me. They have these understrap things that she said she had to use so that there wouldn't be a problem when she went into labor.
