No idea. Nowadays people are so bored with their lives that they just keep making up theories for everything in life.

They don't even know what neurotransmitters are involved in emotions. Let alone anyone understand the effects of visible light on our emotions. Colours are associated with chakras in Ayurvedic medicine and with organs in 5-element theory. Colours have a meanig in themselves in those two :-)

blue, green, grey and the "cool" colors are sad
red, yellow, orange and the "warm" colors are happy
red=love, anger
black=hate, evil
white=innocence
green=rebirth, celebration
purple=royalty, passion
pink=optimist
yellow=happiness
When we are trying to convey an emotion (through art etc) these colors can make the statement for us. Green for example is a traditional color more than an emotional one...green is the color of spring and x-mas trees and sign of hope. The eye doesn't see it and think rebirth, society tells us that.
Red can bring either love or hate depending on how it is used and who is looking at it.

I think sometimes emotions are difficult to express, so to show a colour may be easier rather than having to find words.
