Many blacks get angry and say that "your ancestors enslaved our ancestors" and use that for an arguement for current racial biases and sometimes entitlement.

During the years of the slave trade, white slave traders showed up to the ports and bought slaves from the blacks that actually enslaved them in Africa. It was a thriving economy for the African tribes to conquer other tribes, enslave them, buy more guns and do it again.

So the question is, why are you mad at the white people for enslaving your ancestors and not the black people as well???

Followup question....many of my ancestors were also persecuted. Should I be angry at the decendants of those people who persecuted my ancestors???

I actually was reading through some Q&A's on here and it came up a number of times by black posters. I'm not dreaming this up, and no....not all black people do this. Hopefully very few.

If it makes you feel better you can be pissed off at whoever you like and more power to you. The African-American slave issue? Too complex to discuss here.

Ok I'm not into hate, I don't believe that race even exists (except in the eyes of ignorant people), and I don't like being accused of s..t that white people did over a century ago. My family is from Germany and when they came to America they didn't have any slaves. They couldn't afford them, so they worked their asses off in the mountains and made a nice , but tough little life for themselves. Who cares right?
But after travelling around the country I've seen some unfair stuff. If you've ever driven through Mississippi or Louisiana or New York or California or... Many people are living off of the fortunes that their families made a looong time ago. Many "black" people weren't allowed to make fortunes when they came here... so nothing to pass on. If you really think that we are not still feeling the results of African slavery in America you're sleeping. And by the way slavery still exists worldwide. YES, EVEN IN AMERICA.
Alot of people are flat out wrong when entering into this arguement, but don't be further fooled THERE ARE MORE THAN TWO SIDES to just about any social issue. Let it go man if your family was screwed by the man too, you have more in common, embrace that. Peace

Because black people have no other defense.

I should be mad at the settlers who drove my Native American ancestors off of their land. Can you please give me a couple hundred acres, please?

I should also be mad at the Germans for persecuting my ancestors in Germany during the Holocaust. I would like a couple million dollars for this, please.

Also a common misconception, not all white people owned slaves. My ancestry shows no evidence of my ancestors owning slaves, hell they were dirt poor sharecroppers.

The black people that do this need to get a life and grow up.

to truly understand you have to understand what slavery was about. haven't met a white person that actually cared about the subject enough to actually research and try to comprehend except how pertains to them. it wasn't that act of forced labor it was tactic's and dehumanization the tactics weren't just meant for then it was meant for a permanent effect this is the simplest thing you can understand when you strip an entire culture of their history you cant give it back ,when you do medical experiment that change you genetic thier tendencies you cant un do it i.e sickle cell ,ever heard of tuskeegee expierement.just like you cant replenish this land with native americans. only to those who dont understand it was 100 of years ago your talking about an institution that lasted 450 years slavery only ended 100 years ago blacks just got rights in this country about 40 years ago .you mention reperations many whites in this country can attribute thier intire famillies wealth to the slave trade...if you trully care and want to understand and just not be a deffense attorney for whites just think about these numbers 400 years lets just say 1 million slave owners and thats a gross understatement .now up untill roughly 1969 lets just say in order to segregates blacks from astablishments through the usa it took the particpation of 1 out of every 3 whites and estimated
30 million now in 2006 not one exist if you ask most they will say im not a raceist uuuuuuum have all racsist diappeared like the unicorn .also remember your taught from the history books of the slave owners ....by the way slavery still exist in this country it just has a different form ...in some form or another if you live in this country you benefited from slavery

I just get mad when people say that they want slave reparations. I am not going to pay for something that my ancestors may or may not have done to someone elses ancestors.

I read it and he brought up some good points.
People still use the slavery thing, as if it happened 20 years ago.

By the way, I am not racist, even if it seems I am. I deal with many black people at my job, and I am cool with most of them.
People are people, you have some good, some bad in any race.

I'm not reading all that... but those blacks you're talking about -- they're idiots.

I'm blacker than any black person you know, but never refer to slavery. You need to get out of the sterotype hamper...
