It is not legitimate to cut off 750,000 people from electricity,” wrote Gideon Levy in Israel’s Ha’aretz newspaper. “It is not legitimate to call on 20,000 people to run from their homes and turn their towns into ghost towns...It is not legitimate to kidnap half a government and a quarter of a parliament. A state that takes such steps is no longer distinguishable from a terror organization.”

there is no justification for collective punishment...it is considered a war crime under international law...but you will NEVER see Israel called to task for it...or for anything else, for that matter..., disagreeing with Israel on ANYTHING inevitably brings charges of anti-semitism...

The state of Israel was legally created out of the dismemberment of the Ottoman Empire at the end of World War I. The area was desolate, desert and swamp, with some small towns and a few inhabitants, many of them nomads. The inhabitants considered themselves mostly Syrian. The Balfour Declaration issued by the British, who were given the mandate over the area by the League of Nations. Jews have lived in the country since Biblical times. The Arabs from the surrounding areas were lured to "Palestine" by the industry and prosperity that the Jews brought to the region. Envy, hatred and religious fanaticism turned the Arabs against the Jews. In 1947, under pressure, the British resigned their mandate. The same year, the United Nations mandated partioning of the territory. The Jews, though disappointed, accepted the partition. The Arabs rejected it and launched war against Israel. The armies of five Arab countries invaded. Following the exhortations of the invaders, the Arab residents got out of the way hoping to return after victory was attained. They could then reclaim their property and that of the Jews, all of whom would have been killed or would have fled. Israel won. That and that alone is the source of the Palastinian "refugees". Had the Arabs accepted the UN partition plan, there would now have been a state of "Palestine" for the last 58 years. The might have attained a similar level of prosperity, advancement and development as Israel. 50% of Israel's population now includes refugees from Morocco, Algeria, Iraq and Yemen. All were accepted by Israel with open arms and have become successful members of their society. The Palestinians refused to integrate these refugees into their population and instead confined them to "refugee camps". The ones there are now fourth generation and through no fault of Israel.

How pathetic is it that those refugees have been there for 4 GENERATIONS and no one has helped them? Can you imagine that in America - if we had people in tents for 4 generations. The Palestinians are pathetic at taking care of their own.

I genuinely ought to consider the folk who sense that's the rockets and suicide bombers who reason the themes. Israel has little interest in being the abuser or hurting people. they prefer to terror marketing campaign adversarial to them to stop. it really is poor that the folk of Gaza are dealing with this and that i'd genuinely ask for restrain from Israel and to insure innocuous everybody is presented for . If the shelling ought to stop there should be peace and unlucky incidents would not ensue. Israel is a very small u . s . a . surrounded with the help of countries which have avowed that's destruction. What ought to they do?

I think he writes hogwash, the terror groups will not leave Israel alone they even dig under their wall to kidnap soldiers to hold hostage, if they do not want retaliation, why do they persist and persist on doing Israel harm, those terror groups don't spend their money for their own people, their people are starving because of their lack of compassion for their own people, they could be buying food and Medical supplies for their people, but their rather spend it on weapons to harass Israel. And Hammas and Hezbollah should have thought of that before they kidnapped those soldiers. And the reason they have starving children in Palestine is because the Arab Nations do nothing to help the Palestinians, they could even give them land to move to but they don't left a finger. So don't blame Israel because they children are without food

Why don't you go over there and find out?

If you're being serious about this and not making fun of those quotes, then I am right there with you. But this is talked out subject. I think the only solution is to try to get as many people as we can to boycott Isreali made products. The wash cloths that I bought the other day were made in Pakistan.

It a war...

I don't totally blame Israel because they have been under rocket attacks every since they turn Gaza over to Palestinians, hoping that would bring some peace.

Having said that... it still looks too extreme the way Israel is handling this situation.

Israel has opened the Karni and Nahal Oz crossings in order to transfer gasoline and basic products into areas of the Gaza Strip and to ease restrictions on the Palestinian population, despite the threat of terror attacks!

Who else but Israel gives their enemy humanitarian supplies during wartime?

If Palestinians didn't support violent conflict against Israel via Hamas and Hezbollah perhaps they could start the peace process instead of being a constant hinderance.

For every Israeli child killed, 7 Palestinian children are killed in these troubled times. That number will continue to rise until genocide is completed on the Palestinians.
