It can't be a racist term unless it refers to someone of a different race. So, yes, if there are Blacks or Asians out there calling Whites "red necks," then it is a racist term. If Whites are calling Whites red necks, it may be biased, bigoted, or prejudiced, but it isn't racism.
I don't know. There are a lot worse red necks out there than Bill. I didn't like him much when he was in office, but I like him more now. There'd have to be a pretty bad Republican candidate for me to vote for him if he were eligible, but I'd consider him over both Gore and Kerry. Heck, even Bill didn't like Gore, which is why he worked so little to get him elected. No one would know better than Bill about Gore.

I don't think red necks can be given a bad name. The term red neck itself, is a bad name.

you assert that "redneck" possesses each and every characteristic of a racial slur, yet does it somewhat? For the respond to this question, you're able to desire to look on the context and background at the back of the two words. For a great area of yankee background, black human beings weren't somewhat seen "human beings". extremely, they have been recognized as subhuman, components, or n*****s. The "n" observe is basically a throwback to the days whilst human beings refused to correctly known the human fee of black human beings and have been supported of their supremacy via the regulations of the land. this provides it plenty greater capability than a observe like "redneck". "Redneck" is comparable in that that is used to disparage a great and ranging demographic. besides the undeniable fact that, it lacks a historic context wherein persons belonging to that demographic have been compelled in to subservience and recognized via regulation to be "no longer actual human beings". curiously sufficient, "cracker", does have a historic context. it somewhat is a connection with the sound of an overseer's whip. it somewhat is, besides the undeniable fact that, no longer completely a slur the two. a real slur isn't in basic terms an insulting observe and gadget for exclusion. it somewhat is a label that replaced into at one time, or at present is, supported via regulation.
