Both parties have good and lousy people under their banner. If we are lucky we can get a president who is either a Democrat or Republican and who is right for the country. The same holds true for Senators and Congressmen. There are at times major differences between the two parties and it is a toss up (depending upon who controls the majority of seats in Congress)what the outcome of a vote may be. I am firmly in favor of a third party so the voters can have someone who may be in the middle of both parties. This would give the American voter a chance to get what he/she is looking for. Will it ever happen? It might if a very strong person emerges from the ranks of mediocrity and takes a middle position on politics.

Republican, but they have issues.
The biggest problem with the democrats is that their attitude like they own compassion, and concern for liberties.
Who wrote the Emancipation Proclomation, oh ya the First Republican president. Who ordered the dropping of Atomic bombs? Oh ya a Democratic President. Do I associate any political party ties with those actions or disagree with them??? No
I am just using the logic of liberals. There is good and bad in all.
Bottom line they both can suck real bad, and both can produce excellent leaders

As stated by other posters, both are entrenched and useless to bring about significant and timely change to America. Stay away from affiliating with either of them! Work to bring an end to the entrenched two party system, so we can finally enjoy some real democracy in this nation... one of hard fought "coalition building" and activism. The two-party system is a lazy system for lazy people and little can be said of one party that does or does not stand for the other to a greater or lesser extent. They are both corrupt, both weak about real change i.e., election reform & removal of the lobbyists operating with the members of Congress. God help us if we fail to dismiss them over the next decade... what we don't need is "more of the same."

i'm an self sustaining, yet i think that in case you in basic terms had to come to a decision on between the Republican or Democrat social gathering, i could could desire to assert the Republican social gathering is larger. the reason being, the Republican social gathering has a concrete platform per ideology. Their values are consistent and alter little or no over the years. The Republicans, in spite of critisim from their competitors, are greater inclusive than the Democratic social gathering and function a tendency to handle the minorities of their ranks as equals extremely of underlings that want coddling. The Republican social gathering is likewise the social gathering that supported emancipation for the duration of the Civil war and Civil Rights for the duration of the 1960's. The Democrats on the different hand, is a mishmosh of particularly some ethnic, racial, gender, non secular, and social minorities, each and every with their own selfish schedule. Their are a coalition of minorities, who on their own, are no longer able to impression government. They declare to be progressive and inclusive on a similar time as labeling their warring parties as racist and bigots. besides the undeniable fact that, in case you look deeply into the makeup of this social gathering, you will see the hypocrisy that lies interior. case in point, Democrats declare they are greater inlcusive than Republicans, yet whilst it includes faith, the Democrats tend to help Islam over Christianity. Now i'm no longer asserting that one faith is larger than the different, i myself am an athiest. besides the undeniable fact that, I guess you i can checklist greater gay Pastors and clergymen than you are able to call gay Imams. The Democrat social gathering is crammed with hypocrisies, that's inevitable once you attempt to cater to all and sundry.

Voting independent may seem like a good idea but it just hands the win to the evil of two lessors. A vote thrown away doesn't help anyone.
Over the past several years, it's become plainly obvious the democrats are the party of hate and distortion.

I think you need to take a look at each of the parties platforms, what they stand for, then decide which party has more of the things you believe in. Ex: Are you for or against the Death Penalty? Do you believe if you come up with a successful business, or just work hard everyday that you may have your own things should you keept most of the profits/earnings, or should you have to give the government most of your profits/earnings and let them redistribute to those that do not contribute. For every issue you believe in, look at each party and see where they stand, then decide who you agree with most.

Democrat. Always. They are the humanist party. I am a humanist, well except for the abortion thing. I don't support Democrat candidates when it comes to abortion. I value life too much and there is no stronger bond than that between a mother and her child.

It is so ridiculous, but both parties in an attempt to be different than the other are alienating themselves from voters, instead of representing what Americans want and doing what is really best for America.
