I'm looking at buying a '91 Civic DX Hatchback 2D. I don't know how many miles are on it, but I do know it is a automatic. It also has some good hail damage, no power locks or windows. KBB.com says excelent condition for 3.5k, but what is it really worth. Help anyone.

I have a 1993 civic dx two door. I had hail damage also. Buy the car and bring it to a body shop, they will fill it with bondo. $3500 for a 91 is too much. Offer $2200. See what happens. Also find out if the water pump and timing belt were changed around 60k. This is something that needs to be done with the Hondas. The belt stretches out. Both the timing belt and water pump are usually done together since that part of the engine has to be taken apart anyway.

Is that $3,500 Canadian or something? I think you may have checked the wrong year by mistake maybe.

Assuming that it has between 100K and 120K on the clock, which is pretty average, and it's a DX which means virtually nothing for options, and that it has hail damage...you're looking around $1,500 or less. +/- $250 depending on what area of the country you live in.

no...with hail damage it's definitely not worth it...hondas hold their value but not that much. it's probably worth around1100 kbb overestimates sometimes i think. I personally would not buy it for 3500 you could get alot better honda for that i promise just shop around. good luck

$3500 is way too much. I wouldn't pay anything more than $1200 for it. Especially for an automatic.

Look up Kelly Blue Book for the price. It will ask you for mileage.
