Some parts of America are extremely homophobic, some parts aren't. It's probably like that in every western country. Unless everyone in these countries are polled about their attitudes towards gays, one truly couldn't say how homophobic the U.S. is in comparison to other countries, though I'm guessing that particularly religious and uneducated communities/areas/countries are more likely to be homophobic than other ones.

NOT AT ALL!!!

Many European countries are very homophobic, such as Italy (no offense). I did not see any openly gay people there when I went, whereas here I even see them holding hands and kissing in public. Also, on their yahoo answers, the LGBT section is almost completely bare.

Only one person has an open question there. One (as of 9:00pm EST).

the media always make everything look like hell has broke lose. Believe this 95% of the news is negative,if you feed on the news like I know some people who do for hours a day you will become negative also.

I'm sure it's worse in some of the heavily Catholic South American countries.
